Who We Are

William Hazelwood is a distinguished educator and Brookings Institute Journalism Fellowship alumna as well as an award-winning broadcaster with more than 25 years experience producing and directing national News and Public Affairs programming for the CBS and PBS Networks. He has taught media performance and public speaking for many years at San Francisco State University in the Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts Department and holds the title Professor Emeritus. William obtained his degree in Speech from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts with the help of academic and basketball scholarships.

William speaks to audiences of all ages about the need for Encouraging and Implementing Change, produces interactive training programs and has a long history of mentoring high school students.

Barbara Rodgers is an award-winning broadcast journalist with more than 25 years of experience as a news anchor and reporter for CBS.  She also has extensive experience as an emcee, panel participant and discussion moderator.  She was selected during the Clinton administration to moderate the President's Commission on Race Town Hall Meeting for Northern California.  Before becoming a broadcaster, she headed the Business Skills Department at the Educational Opportunities Center in Rochester, New York.  

Alexander (Sandy) Mackie) worked for 25 years at ChevronTexaco as a writer, editor and manager of publications, web sites, teleconferences, advertising, executive speeches and media relations. He helped develop the corporate mission, values and strategic plan. He is a Masters Degree graduate of Dartmouth College and the journalism school of the University of Missouri. Sandy consults on message and sponsorship development for socially responsible communications projects.

Judy Prior has been an Internet consultant, trainer and web developer since 1994. Working as a marketing research project director with Fortune 500 companies, she quickly saw the efficiencies in communication offered by the Internet. With her unique blend of marketing savvy and technology skills, Judy assists Sojourna on projects that can be enhanced by delivery via corporate intra nets or the Internet. She holds a Masters Degree in education.

Kena Joy Hazelwood h
as a long history of mentoring and educating inner city high school students. Her first teaching experience was at the MATCH Charter High School in Boston, Massachusetts. She currently teaches at the Brooklyn Academy High School in Brooklyn, New York and consults with Sojourna Productions on electronic mentoring and coaching for high school and college students.
